- Great day! Lots of visitors.
- Phillip and the band were awesome.
- Difficult message on same sex marriage. Marriage is a Divinely inspired institution not just a social construct. It is between one man and one woman. Homosexuality is biblically wrong. Therefore, if we take the Bible seriously then there is no way we can be neutral about same sex marriage.
- We continue to pray for the Trew family. Paul and Joyce lost their oldest daughter and oldest grandson in a car wreck. The Trews are a great family, and it’s hard to see them go through something like this. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday.

Late Sunday Rewind
I’m a little late posting this rewind.
- The message was on the politicizing of environmental issues and what the Bible has to say about the environment. Followers of Christ should have a high regard for the environment because it is God’s creation. He has given humanity the responsibility to be stewards of the environment and He also reveals His existence through nature (General Revelation).
- As always, our volunteers did a great job.
- Phillip is growing into a great worship leader.
- Elevate, our youth worship service, was interesting. The guys worked extremely hard setting everything up. However, just before the service started at 6:00 pm the power knocked off. After that everything got really complicated. However, I thought Jimmy had a very good message. Also, we had a good crowd.

- I spoke today on the subject of abortion. The message was well received. Human life is sacred because we have been created in the image of God. It’s amazing how one’s view of human origin (evolution vs. creation) impacts one’s view on abortion.
- We had our second consecutive big offering. I can not tell you how much we needed this. We have very little fat in our budget. However, as a precaution we have cut down from 3 theaters to 2. This new set up may wind up working better for us particularly with our toddlers.
- Our small groups continue to stay strong. We are probably going to start two new ones in the near future. If you are interested in being in a new small group, you can e-mail Kevin at kevinn9@juno.com
- We had a few issues with our sound. I think everything has been resolved. Gavin does a great job.

Sunday Rewind
- Kicked off the Biblical Answers to Political Issues series this Sunday. I have never preached on the subject of immigration. I thought it went well.
- Great offering today. The last several weeks have been slim. We will probably have to make some cut backs but nothing major.
- It was great seeing our volunteers working so fervently before the service started. They are wonderful!
- Attendance continues to stay steady.
- Our next Elevate service for students will be October 19, at the Pavilion at O’Neal Plaza in downtonwn Douglasville.
This Sunday I will begin a series on 5 political hot topics. First up is immigration. How should a follower of Christ respond to illegal immigration? What is the role of government? Is it all right to break the law? Should the church take a position? Come this Sunday and we will try to answer these questions and more.
