November 23 Recap

One of my favorite days ever at Summit. I finished my series on Prayer. We looked at interceding for those who have wronged us. It’s easy to talk about but hard to put into practice. However, I believe we had some people who chose to walk in victory today. When you get to the point of being able to pray for someone who has wronged you then you are going down the path of Christlikeness. Also, you put yourself in the position of being blessed by God.

Next Sunday begins the lead up to Christmas. The band is going to crank out some awesome Christmas carols. I love this time of year!

November 16 Recap

  • Ben and Brett Beasley did a great job running the sound system.
  • The guys setting up and tearing down the stage worked in record time.
  • We had several visitors in our service.
  • I love the way our members are starting to minister to one another.
  • Because of the bad economy we are going to have a “bring your own chili and dessert” Christmas party instead of a catered meal. This decision will be good for everyone’s pocketbook.
  • I have enjoyed preaching on prayer. It’s amazing when you look at what Jesus says about prayer. Wow! He tallks about how we can have what we ask for. However, there are some preconditions and that’s what messes us up.

Nov 2 sunday rewind

  • I finished the series on political issues. We focused on war. Is it ever biblical? Can there be a “just war?” We addressed these questions and more. The sermon should be available online by Tuesday.
  • Good crowd
  • We had our largest offering ever and we forgot to announce we were taking up an offering.
  • Next week we begin a new series on prayer. I’m looking forward to it.
  • I’ll be glad when the election is over.
  • FamJam went well last night. Kevin Neufeld delivered a message that I think everyone needs to hear.
  • We’ll have an announcement soon about our church Christmas party coming up in December.
